Stylish Swimwear for Women With Fuller Busts

Stylish Swimwear for Women With Fuller Busts

Summer holidays! One of the first things that pop into my head is swimwear. Sea, sun, pool and sandy beach – these words bring me so much joy. I end up packing more swimwear than I need in my suitcase before anything else, after all, they don’t take up so much space and don’t weigh much either. So here is my recommendation on Stylish Swimwear for Women With Fuller Busts.

Figleaves have been my go-to for pretty much everything they offer- from swimwear to lingerie.

Along with a lot of other brands, Figleaves also do their own range of swimwear. As summer and summer holiday plans are underway, let’s talk swimwear sizes and some of my favourite styles offered by Figleaves for busty women like myself.

Swimwear Sizing

As a woman with fuller busts, finding the right size of swimwear just like lingerie is important to me and for my self-confidence. Figleaves offer their own range of swimwear with sizes up to H cup. This means you don’t have to compromise on a style, comfort and fit when opting for swimwear. This is great news for busty women because the fashion industry in general hardly caters to us or women with non-conventional body shapes.

Now, let’s talk stylish swimwear for women with fuller busts…

Two Piece / Bikini

A style I’ve grown to love. I like a little drama, add some frills, plain or patterned top, paired with high waisted bottoms.

Classic One Piece/Swimsuit

Everyone needs a classic one piece. They are versatile and can be worn as a bodysuit.

The classic one-piece/swimsuit was my go-to when I was a lot less confident about my body. They are still my go-to on days that I want to keep things simple or for pool or beach activities. I feel a lot more secure in a swimsuit.

The Bandeau

The Bandeau does something magical to the cleavage and clavicles. They look very flattering on the upper region and I am an advocate for this style. Either as a two piece or one piece, plain, patterned or very dramatic. With regular clothing and big busts, bandeaus may be tricky but as swimwear, they are great.

My Honeymoon – The planning & Shopping…

Honeymoon planning and shopping…Shopping for summer /holiday pieces during winter is one of the hardest tasks ever! Why didn’t anyone tell me?

If you are following me on Instagram, you’ll know I’ve been away for my honeymoon to sunny Thailand and rainy Bali. I’ll come back to these 2 places in a second…but first…the planning.

I started planning, sort of, just after my wedding in October. I had a clear idea of my destinations and when I wanted to go, it had to be January. A break from the winter chills and a strategic escape of January blues.

Honeymoon Planning & Shopping

Luna Body – Figleaves

Did I say planning, I suck at that. I am a pathetic planner. After a few weeks trying to organize the trip by myself, I got carried away and then I gave up. A colleague at work recommended a travel agent and I was on the phone with them right away. ( If you need recommendations, hit me up).

This was circa last November. At this point, my whole existence had already fasted forward to January. I could not wait. I had a bright idea of doing a vlog, but then, I didn’t want to take the element of privacy and relaxation out of the whole experience, so I decided not to. If it was a press trip, a vlog would be appropriate…

Hic…as a Nigerian passport holder, I had to apply for a visa for both countries. Roll my eyes. The moment I realised I’ve been on my Indefinite Leave Permit for too long…way too long

Ok, so I started shopping…like in December…

Shopping for summer /holiday pieces during winter is one of the hardest tasks ever! Why didn’t anyone tell me?
I was unable to find anything in stores. Only winter pieces, even in department stores. How did people survive before e-commerce?

Right, so let’s start…

The Swimwear & Cover Up

If you know me well, you know all roads lead to Figleaves when it comes to lingerie, swimwear, underwear shopping. The variety they offer just makes my shopping life so easy and I don’t have to scout the entire world wide web for anything under these categories. Now that summer holidays are fast approaching, it’s the perfect time to check out their new collection, including this gorgeous piece I wore here and here.

I also made a great discovery whilst scouting for bits, Next carry a small range for ladies with big busts as well and their holiday collection is impressive. Peep this swimwear from Next.

Swimwear from Next

Talking about Next, one of the best things I packed with me was this cover up. Ok, I’m not as confident as you may think about my body, I’m not one of those women who strut around in their bikini all day. This was my go-to piece at our resort in Phuket. Beach cover up

Here are some other great options to consider…

The Footwear

HAVAIANAS Slim Plain Flip Flop

Hands down one of my biggest essentials, a pair of slim plain Havaianas flip flops and they are super affordable too. I barely wore any other sandals in all two weeks. I wore these from the sandy beach in Phuket to the tropical storm in Bali, and trust me, I took with me one too many pairs of footwear options – just in case.

The Accessories

Let’s be honest, if you are laying about on the beach or by the pool, you need little or no accessories or makeup, of course, sunglasses are an exception. But in saying that, a little touch of details is always a good idea, like a straw hat or scarf, or my recent obsession, gipsy/boho jewellery.

Forget the statement straw hats with a personalized message, that’s so 2016, let’s talk classic straw hats like this Trilby hat from Next. I also like the idea of a backpack for mini-adventures, it was a perfect choice for going out and about, for example, our trip to the Elephant Sanctuary in Phuket. Ahhh, last but not least, a waterproof phone case might also come in handy…just saying. I have linked one below.

That’s it for my honeymoon planning and shopping. I’ll share more about the destinations in my next post. Please don’t forget to leave comments and show some love if you’ve enjoyed reading this post.

Until next time…

3 Lingerie Shopping Tips For Women With Busts Bigger Than DD’s – Let’s Get Intimate

Did I tell you guys what I got up to during London Fashion week this season? Oops, if you aren’t following me on Instagram then you may (or may not) have missed out on that ship. But, I’ll share one of my highlights from this season with you guys.

Before I do, I want to let you guys understand that every fashion week I attend, I try to make my post as personal as possible. Especially on the blog. I share all the instant runway bits on my social media and recap on my personal experience like I did for Milan Fashion Week and Malta Fashion Week here on the blog.

Figleaves x Edeline Lee | London fashion Week SS18

So, for London Fashion Week SS18, Figleaves invited me to join them at designer Edeline Lee’s presentation. I was excited, especially at the idea of hanging out backstage and getting to meet the designer. I shared all of this action on their Instagram stories and on mine too. Underneath all the pretty clothes the models at the presentation strutted in, were lingerie from Figleaves.

…Right, let’s talk about What Lies beneath and let’s get intimate with Figleaves. For a couple of years now, I’ve bought most of my lingerie from Figleaves. Buying lingerie especially bras, in general, is tricky for a girl bigger than a DD. When I say tricky, it’s everything from fit to prices, styles and variety of brands. I still wonder when would the fashion industry start catering to the need of busty women… So what’s a small-ish woman with big busts to do? Here’s what I’ve done

  1. Got my size right. Sometimes I go up on down in size depending on the brand or even style. Once you’ve got this right, THAT IS ALL. Bigger bust bras don’t come cheap, so for me, this is very important that everything is right and perfect. Nowadays, you get a lot more support online with fittings.
  2. I found an online store that caters to larger sizes, and offer lots of brands and styles. I buy almost everything online, it was about time I started buying lingerie online too.
  3. For variety, I had to start thinking outside ‘the box’. I mean, the world, wide, web has a lot to offer. A lot more than I possibly can find in stores.
  4. Embraced more risque styles. Though I might have an obsession with black lingerie, I’ve embraced all colours and designs.

Here are some of my favourites from Figleaves

If like me you are blessed with an amazing pair of boobies, let me know your thoughts on this.
