The fashion world will remember summer sixteen as the year of the return of shoulder-baring. Off The Shoulders has been on and off since forever, but the style made a major comeback the last couple of years. It is no longer a sideline trend for festival goers, boho babes or glamorous red carpet style dresses. I first featured on the blog back in 2014, here, and several times since then.
So, why did I fall in love with this trend? And no, it’s not because I have extremely fab shoulders that I totally need to show off? It’s the contemporary spin it got this season, from dramatic sleeving and frill-ing, to fun fabrics and detailing.
So, 30 degrees in London got me out in this Ankara off the shoulders crop top, which I fell in love with at first sight. The African fabric immediately got my attention and the top got me lots of attention as well …and was loving every moment of it. Wearing it made me realize how much I need to incorporate more African influence to my everyday look. I was in my absolute element! This is my favourite look till date and I really hope you guys like it as much as I do 🙂
