True story, I never plan my looks or what to wear a day or night before. It all happens in the morning or on the same day. I know my clothes and my clothes know me. If things aren’t working out, you know, those days that nothing fits, I go back to reset – t-shirt and blue jeans. Anyway, I was thinking about something the other day, what triggers the SHOP button? Most of the time we get inspired by what we’ve seen somewhere, on others or maybe in the stores right? Well, apart from this, here is how it happens for me most of the time…Wearing:
Shirt (old) – River Island (via Asos)
Jeans (old) – Monki via Asos
Scarf c/o – Bianca Elgar
Necklace (Lola & Grace) & Bracelet (Lola Rose) – Via Watchshop.com
Bag – Chloe
Sandals – Lost Ink via Asos
SSunglasses (old) – New Look
The light bulb moment usually happens when I’m getting dressed in the morning…PING! ‘Oh, these jeans would totally look cool with a long line shirt…hmmm ‘ (or something along those lines). Of course, my subconscious mind registered a particular long line shirt whilst browsing the new arrivals, perhaps not too long ago. I go back on my private pin board where I save all sorts, hoping I would have saved this longline shirt. Before finally deciding on that particular one, I browse my usual online shopping destinations – Asos, Topshop, Zara, Net a Porter, Avenue 32 and Farfetch for inspiration, and maybe pay H&M a visit while at it…a few variations of the longline shirts pop up in my quest, bold prints, colours, split backs (similar to the one in this post), off the shoulders etc until the magic happens with one.
Do you have any process or thoughts that runs through your mind that triggers the need to shop or buy something new?
