My London Fashion Week FOMO

by

Goodness! Another fashion season is rolling up real fast! Dear ME! What to do? London Fashion Week: my fear of missing out is going to kick in soon.

For a while now, I’ve been dwelling on the idea of Fashion Week in other cities. NYFW isn’t on the agenda just yet, maybe start closer to home, with Paris and Milan. After six seasons of London Fashion Week, I feel the need for more…more content for you lovely lot (especially those following me on social media) and JUST MORE!

I received a few invitations to shows & presentations during Haute Couture Fashion Week, but I didn’t have enough time to prepare – hadn’t taken any time off for it. But that triggered the thought of preparing for this Fashion Season – I feel like I’m just never prepared.

On that note, I’ve currently made no plans to attend London Fashion Week this season. I may attend presentations and of course events…we’ll see how it goes. I’ve had a number of people asking if I’ll be attending.

Because London is my city, I’ve always felt the need to share all the amazingness London Fashion Week has to offer, especially as I see myself as a fashion devotee, not just a blogger.

Also, Fashion Week is an opportunity to build on industry relationships and great for personal exposure. To get the best out of any industry, they say the relationships you build are key. Of course, it works both ways. It’s harder to sit behind a screen and write about brands you can’t connect or relate to in the same way as the ones you’ve brushed shoulders with. The enthusiasm for me isn’t just the same. Fashion Week is a great opportunity to get to know the insiders and vice versa, allowing you to build a reputation for yourself within the industry.

On a personal level, for the past couple of seasons, I’ve dragged myself to London Fashion Week firstly for my audience, to create content and share a lot of what the fashion world has to offer. But also out of FOMO – I know. I’ve been fortunate to have been accredited by the BFC for a few seasons now. The accreditation gives similar access to the same facilities as accredited press and buyers – again you lovely lot following me on my social platforms would have seen the best of it. I’m still debating LFW or nah –  is my FOMO going to kick in at some point? What are your thoughts guys?

I draw a lot of inspiration from fashion shows. Now that we are heading into SS17, it would be a good time to share some inspiration from the last LFW, which I will do in my next post. But for now, I leave you with my second look from my trip to Paris.

Paris was colder than London at -6 degrees, there was a great need for ‘snuggle’ to make an appearance. This coat is an oldie from Whistles, but I have linked some similar products on my SHOP page.

Love this coat babe!! Looking gorgeous strutting London’s streets.
I’m planning to attend fashion weeks maybe on September, I’ve been last year to MFW but as you say, NYFW is a bit hard. So its either I go to NY or I go to Milan and maybe Paris! I would love to Visit London one day soon I hope! And when I do, I would defiantly love to meet you gorgeous in person.
