Le Black Pumps

Black-High-Heel-Shoes.A pair of comfortable black high heel court shoes are SO essential.

While I’m still contemplating if to or not to splurge on a pair of Christian Louboutin’s Pigalle 120mm, actually, not anymore, I’m thinking about the So Kate now  (a little more comfortable than the Pigalle), I’ve bought a number of regular priced black pumps, and of them all, these are by far the sexiest and most comfy ones till date. Believe me, many pairs have come and gone. I spotted these online when Zara unveiled their AW14 collection, I knew they had my name written all over them.

Here’s the interesting narrative behind this purchase…One good morning on my way to work, there was a crack in the pavement patiently waiting for me. Oblivious to this, I was strutting in my now old black pumps, fiddling about on my phone, headphones on with music at top volume…la la la. Yup, as you can guess, I took a huge step, right in the crack, heel in, ankle gives… Um, it’s nothing, it happens every now and again, keep on walking like nothing happened. Oh stop! This time, something happened, my left heel could no longer support my weight. BROKEN HEEL!! This had NEVER happened to me and I never thought it would, slight panic moment. Too late to go back home to change shoes, too early to get a new pair on my way to work, what do I do? Ok, limp on, I’ve got this – I’m a serial heel wearer, a broken heel shouldn’t hold me back. Push weight on right foot and tip toe with the broken heel foot – skills! I probably looked silly, like women who struggle to walk in heels when they really should park it in. Well, I managed to get to work, got through the day by siting by my desk all day – if anyone needed me, I simply wheeled myself over on my seat – lol (ok, I did get up a few times). I dreaded the thought of going home, that’s an hour twenty journey with much motion in a broken heel, what if the heel fell off completely? I was determined to replace the old pair on my way home, I had better chances of surviving in them for 20 mins, which is the time it would take to get to the nearest Zara store. These heels had been on my mind for a while, it was only a matter of time before they were mine, and the time had come!

At the time of purchase, I was not thinking about comfort, all I wanted was to get rid of the old pair. As luck would have it, they were comfortable! Was I just imagining it? How could a pair of heels so pretty be comfortable? Perhaps it was because I just stepped out of a very uncomfortable situation… Well, that was not the case, I’m in my comfort zone in these shoes I tell ya. Going to work, I slip them on, going out to events, I slip them on, absolutely multifunctional…ahhhh! the joys of owning a pair of comfortable pretty black pumps is unreal!

I ask myself, would a pair of So Kate give me such satisfaction? In a different way I guess…

I got the most comfortable pumps this spring and I loved them. Until I forgot them at a hotel I stayed at during an event that I attended!!! So sad!

I must have seen these pumps on Zara a hundred times and never bothered with them but from your picture I saw the gold strip. That makes a ordinary pair of black pumps so much cooler but just as basic.
