Personal Journal | Start Where You Are

by

"Start Where You Are"...what does that mean to me and what does it mean to you? This is not going to be an overly psychological, get-into-your-mind kinda post, don't fret... I had to reflect on this for a while when I was approached with this slogan tee and the message around it. "Start Where You Are" #befearless. I finally decided to accept the challenge to share a personal post around my own personal experience. I'll have a chat with you guys about my career which is one thing I've had to start over again, more than once. I feel many people struggle with this. Either with choosing one, starting one or sticking to one. I've had lots of conversations with people who feel like they are in a right rut in their jobs or wants a change or just don't know. And a lot of people ask me, how I transitioned from working ...

Embracing My Curves

by

You ever tried something on and instantly felt sassy and fierce? Well, that was me when I tried on this Dariia Monde bodysuit. I don't want to jump on the body image wagon because it's popular, but when I say almost every woman has one or two things they don't like about themselves I think I'll be speaking about the majority of women. I'll tell you mine... I have a love/hate relationship with my bosoms. They are overly sexualized and the society's made me feel rather uncomfortable with mine. Especially growing up. Let's talk about a snippet of the struggles. Finding cool clothes that fit. Dresses either get stuck at neck level or belly level. FFS! Why did I even bother trying the dress on? Fast forward to the thirty something years old me. I have to let go of these hangups I have about myself and my body. I'll tell you how I'm gradually overcoming this... I ...

Pink Suit

Dear All, I present to you, this PINK SUIT. ...with this suit, it was love at first sight. It's the perfect shade of pink, the shade I'm totally obsessed with at the moment. Topshop, you have done too well with this one. As soon as I saw the suit on the mannequin, I knew the suit had to go home with me no matter what, I had to make it work on me...somehow!   !function(d,s,id){var e, p = /^http:/.test(d.location) ? 'http' : 'https';if(!d.getElementById(id)) {e = d.createElement(s);e.id = id;e.src = p + '://' + 'widgets.rewardstyle.com' + '/js/shopthepost.js';d.body.appendChild(e);}if(typeof window.__stp === 'object') if(d.readyState === 'complete') {window.__stp.init();}}(document, 'script', 'shopthepost-script'); JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate it to view this content. Knowing the likelihood of seeing it on 100 other people is high, but I know those people will have similar personality traits as me, the one which this suit commands. I'm happy to associate. True confession, it's one of my ...

Wedding Festival | The Cut Out Floral Maxi Dress

by

Weddings and festivals are two occasions I'm not a 'pro' at. I can finger count how many weddings I've attended in all the years of my existence, less than 10. And festivals? Just once. So, when I got the invitation to my friend's 'WedFest', I genuinely couldn't tell you I had an outfit in mind. But dressing up for the wedding is potentially one of the best ever! Lets talk about this 'Wedding Festival Floral Maxi Dress'. Floral Maxi Dress Topshop Flower Hair Clip H&M Gold Bracelet Newbridge Silverware Earrings (old)  Dorothy Perkins Sandals (old) Asos I make it sound fun and straight forward right? But call me the queen of last minute. I had months and months to plan my outfit, but guess what? I didn't. I've never made a habit of planning my looks for any occasion. I pull my work outfits together same morning, and not the night before or weeks before ...
